The prominent opposition leader, Advocate Nelson Chamisa who is believing that one day he will win the elections against the Zimbabwe’s ruling party Zanu PF and gain the power to lead Zimbabwe as the President. Through his social media X(formerly known as twitter), the former Citizens Coalition for Change president Nelson Chamisa articulated that they will defeat their oppressors.
Chamisa ditched the main opposition party after the party was ravaged by self-imposed interim secretary-general, Sengezo Tshabangu, who recalled several legislators from Parliament after the general elections held in 2023.
On his X handle Chamisa wrote the following:
“WE WILL DEFEAT OUR OPPRESSORS…I have lately been reading the book of Judges, particularly chapters 6-8. These chapters about the story of Gideon have been of great inspiration to me .
Our circumstances, although painfully difficult, sometimes seemingly unbearable, do not equate to the absence of God. God is in it. He is for us. He is with us and He is the determiner and definer of our destiny as a people. And we shall be victorious!
When we walk through the difficult times, dark isles and hard places, we must continue to trust Him.
Cry out for help to our Great God. He hears us. He sees us. He knows us. He loves us. He created us.
We are seen, heard, known and loved beyond measure, more than anything we could possibly imagine.
There is never a time or a place in our lives where He has abandoned or forsaken us and there never will be. Do not allow your circumstances to diminish your faith.
God meets us right where we are, nomatter our circumstances or situations. Zimbabwe is in His hands.
God meets us right there in the midst of our challenges, persecutions, trials, struggles and agonies. We are taken through the fires not to be burned and punished, but to be purified and saved. He walks us, and even carries us through them.
God chose Gideon to lead Israel against the OPPRESSIVE Midianites because he wanted to demonstrate his power through Gideon’s weaknesses. Gideon was not an obvious choice, but God’s choice was faithful and obedient.
Gideon defeated the Midianites, even though he was inadequate and outnumbered.
God trimmed and thinned out Gideon’s army from 32,000 down to 300 men so that when they won the battle they would not boast in themselves but it would be clearly known that only God could have accomplished this.
God reduced the forces of Gideon in order to prove that the victory would be His.
“Our victory is settled! God is in it . We’re in it ! #Godisinit”
