The Lagos State police took Mrs. Josephine into custody for allegedly pouring hot water on her neighbor, Mrs. Blessing Christopher, after she greeted Mr. Josephine, the husband.
According to the victim, she was in the kitchen preparing dinner when she acknowledged her neighbor’s husband, prompting a furious response from his wife.
Blessing recounted, “I simply said, ‘welcome sir,’ in response to his greeting. His wife overheard us and rushed out to confront me, firmly warning me to stop speaking to her husband. She threatened that if I greeted him again, she would take action against me.”

Confused, she asked when it had become a crime to acknowledge someone’s greeting.
The confrontation escalated when Mrs. Josephine told her to wait. As Blessing resumed her cooking, she soon saw Mrs. Josephine approaching with a pot in hand.
Despite her husband attempting to intervene, Mrs. Josephine managed to go behind Blessing and threw hot water on her back.
