Former Kaizer Chiefs defensive midfielder Willard Katsande has endorsed self-proclaimed prophet Walter Magaya, founder of Yadah FC, as a suitable candidate for the presidency of the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).
Katsande expressed his support on Facebook, suggesting that Magaya should be the next ZIFA boss. He added that if Magaya is not interested, he should inspire whoever takes on the role, as the current state of Zimbabwean football is dire.
Katsande highlighted Magaya’s passion for improving Zimbabwean football, noting his praiseworthy efforts during their time together at Gunners. He also commended Magaya for his assistance to the Warriors and Mighty Warriors teams in various ways.
“I honestly feel Prophet Walter Magaya should be the next ZIFA boss. If he is not interested, we need him to inspire the person who will run Zimbabwean football because the pain has been unbearable. His passion to make Zim football better has been praiseworthy, something I saw during the days I worked with him at Gunners.
He was a key figure when Gunners won the championship in 2009. Moreover, he has been assisting Warriors and Mighty in many ways. I hope his associates are advising him to consider taking charge of Zim football,” he wrote.
