A 31-year-old woman, Mariam Nyamagore, has been charged with m_rder after allegedly k!lling her 72-year-old grandmother, Rachel Tekenende, with a hoe.
The incident occurred in Zvimba after a dispute between the two, but the details of the disagreement are not yet known. Nyamagore is accused of striking Tekenende with the hoe, resulting in fatal !njuries.
According to media reports, Nyamagore had previously ass@ulted Tekenende with an iron bar and bricks in Murehwa, and had fled the scene to Harare. Bl00d was found on the iron bar and bricks, which were believed to have been used as weapons.

Tekenende’s brother, John Chinhoyi, described the sorrowful episode, claiming that Nyamagore had followed Tekenende to a residence in Granary Phase 2B, Zvimba, where she was recuperating from injuries. Nyamagore allegedly k!lled Tekenende by striking her three times in the head with a hoe.
Nyamagore was arrested by members of the public and turned over to police. Sabhuku Chinhoyi, the village’s headman, expressed his regret at the tragedy, noting that young people consuming alcohol and dr_gs had become a problem in the community.
He chastised the police for their inaction, claiming that they failed to investigate or visit the scene in Murewa where Tekenende was be@ten. The act has prompted fury in the community, with many demanding justice.
