A 23-year-old woman has been arrested for the murder of her father. The incident occurred in the Skokoko area of Inanda on Tuesday morning.
According to KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda, the woman set fire to the house while her father was inside.
“The motive is unknown.”
Netshiunda stated that the accused will appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court soon to face allegations of murder and arson.
According to an incident record obtained by IOL, the victim was 47 years old and was initially allegedly beaten with a gas g_n on the head by his daughter. It is also claimed that the father and daughter were both inebriated.
The victim’s body was discovered inside the residence, burned beyond recognition.
The entire house was also burnt down.
The accused allegedly fled the scene but was subsequently apprehended by police.
In another incident, a guy who st@bbed his mother to de@th a day before Mother’s Day in May 2023, was judged not guilty of her m_rder.
In March 2024, Krishen Pillay, 40, was judged not mentally able to stand trial and will be held at Fort Napier Hospital. The court concluded that he was not criminally guilty for his mother’s death.
