In a daring and courageous act, a woman from Ndola has transformed her traumatic experience of being gang-r@ped into a triumph of justice.
On Christmas Day, while many were celebrating the festive season, the woman and her friend were ambushed by a group of five men who subjected them to a horrific ordeal of violence and s3xual ass@ult.
As the gang attempted to force themselves on the women, one of them managed to escape into the darkness, leaving the other woman at the mercy of the att@ckers.
The victim was repeatedly r@ped and subjected to dehumanising acts, but she refused to give up. In a remarkable display of bravery and cunning, she manipulated one of her att@ckers, Shadreck Kaira, 20, into believing that she was interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with him.
Kaira, duped by the victim’s ruse, agreed to escort her home, unaware of the trap that was being set for him. Upon arriving at her residence, the victim offered Kaira a bath, during which she discreetly alerted her neighbors, who promptly came to her aid.
The neighbors apprehended Kaira, subjecting him to a taste of his own medicine, before handing him over to the authorities. Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba praised the victim’s bravery and quick thinking, which led to Kaira’s arrest.
He confirmed that four of Kaira’s accomplices remain at large and that a manhunt is underway to bring them to justice. This remarkable story of courage and resilience serves as a testament to the strength and determination of women who refuse to be victimised.
The victim’s actions have not only brought one perpetrator to justice but have also sent a powerful message that women will no longer be silenced or intimidated by vi0lence and ab_se.
