A woman was subjected to a Taser discharge in the presence of her children after she allegedly ass2ulted a security guard at Metro Mall in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. The incident, which transpired between the woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, and security guard Darien Long, unfolded when Long addressed the woman’s children, an action perceived by her as disrespectful.
The confrontation escalated as the woman and her children verbally confronted Long, disregarding repeated warnings to vacate the premises. Despite efforts to defuse the situation, the woman phys1cally engaged with the security guard, prompting him to employ his Taser for restraint, resulting in her collapse in front of her children. A video recording captured by Long depicts the woman employing profane language and striking the guard prior to the Taser deployment.
