A China state owned company has connected the largest solar system plant in the northwestern province of Xinjiang,China.
According to reports, the The 5-gigawatt (GW), 200,000-acre solar farm is alleged to produce bout 6.09 billion kWh of electricity per year which is reportedly enough to power the state of New Guinea for a year.
This facility surpasses previous record-holding solar projects in western China and Xinjiang has become a popular hub responsible for massive renewable energy bases that spread across China.
The solar power system came online on Monday, 3 June 2024 and was announced on the state’s asset regulator’s website.
