The highly anticipated Crossover Show by Zimbabwean reggae-dancehall artist Winky D, set for December 31 at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), is now in jeopardy following the venue’s decision to host another event on the same date.
In a statement released on Friday, Winky D’s legal team, Tsunga Law International, confirmed that the venue had been booked as early as May 2024, with all preparations already completed for the concert.
The statement detailed that discussions are currently underway to resolve the scheduling conflict and ensure the event takes place as planned. It reads:
“Our client wishes to address the situation surrounding the Winky D Crossover Show scheduled for December 31, 2024.

His management secured the venue months in advance and made all necessary arrangements for the upcoming performance.
Winky D is deeply committed to his relationship with his fans and is dedicated to delivering a memorable experience. He has invested considerable effort in preparing for this event, reflecting his passion for bringing joy to his audience.
Unfortunately, the venue owners have opted to prioritize another event on the same day, which undermines the original agreement with Winky D.
This situation has placed the artist in a difficult position as he strives to meet the expectations of his fans.
At this time, discussions are ongoing to rectify the issue, but we are unable to provide further details.
Regrettably, these unforeseen circumstances could disrupt what has been highly anticipated by both Winky D and his devoted followers.
We understand that such changes can be challenging for everyone involved, particularly for artists who are profoundly dedicated to their audiences.
Fans will be kept informed as Winky D works to find a resolution.”
