A 31-year-old man from Bulawayo has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple counts of rap3 involving a 19-year-old woman.
The two first connected when the accused offered the young woman a job, suggesting they meet at his residence to teach her about fixing electronic gadgets.
Initially, they gathered outside his home, awaiting the delivery of the gadgets, but as darkness fell, he coerced her into entering the house under the pretense of safety.
Once inside, he began to touch her inappropriately despite her clear pleas for him to stop.
Ignoring her requests, he proceeded to remove his clothes and s3xually assa_lted her.
This horrific encounter continued as he dragged her to his b3droom and rap3d her two more times throughout the night.
In the morning, rather than showing remorse, he ordered her to bathe before escorting her to a public transport station to go home.
The brutal nature of the @ssaults and his manipulative behavior highlighted a disregard for the victim’s autonomy and consent.
The court’s decision to impose a lengthy 40-year sentence reflects the serious nature of the crime and aims to serve as a deterrent against such behaviors in the community.
Victim advocacy groups have applauded the ruling, emphasizing the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
