The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has expressed grave concern over the alarming surge in the number of criminals impersonating its officers and deceiving many individuals and organizations.
According to reports, the fraudsters are posing as ZACC officials, using fake identities and uniforms, to trick unsuspecting victims into parting with their money or confidential information.
ZACC has warned that these impostors are employing various tactics to dupe people, including claiming to be conducting investigations or offering fake rewards for information about corruption.
The commission has urged the public to exercise extreme caution and report any suspicious activities or encounters with individuals claiming to be ZACC officials.

In a statement, the ZACC spokesperson said, “We are deeply concerned about this trend and want to assure the public that these individuals are not our officers and are not affiliated with our organization. We urge anyone who has been approached by such individuals to report them to the authorities immediately.”
ZACC has also advised the public to verify the identity of any person claiming to be a ZACC officer by contacting the commission’s official offices or checking their official website.
The commission has also urged its own officers to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities or encounters with individuals who may be impersonating them.
The rise in impersonation cases has been attributed to a combination of factors, including the growing awareness of corruption and the need for individuals and organizations to take proactive measures to prevent it.
ZACC has promised to take stern action against anyone found impersonating its officers, including criminal prosecution and imprisonment.
