In the aftermath of Zahara’s passing, a heartfelt video has resurfaced, shedding light on how she hoped to leave her mark.
Zahara breathed her last on Monday at a public hospital in Johannesburg, having been moved from Netcare Olivedale Hospital.
She was admitted to the hospital which is north of Johannesburg, just after celebrating her birthday on the 9th of November due to liver complications.
It all began when Zahara started experiencing stomach pains shortly after her fiancé, Mpho Xaba, paid lobola for her. Concerned by the persistent pain, she was promptly taken to the hospital. Zahara spent approximately two weeks in the medical ward. When her health deteriorated, she was transferred to the ICU.
As doctors discovered significant damage to her liver. After undergoing a series of delicate tests, Zahara slipped into a coma with collapsed lungs and affected kidneys.
Now a poignant video capturing Zahara’s heartfelt sentiments about how she would like to be remembered as surfaced on X (formerly Twitter). During an episode of Podcast and Chill with MacG, Zahara painted a vivid picture of how she wanted to be remembered.
“I want to be remembered as the girl next door that changed lives. That’s it. A girl next door. A girl next door, whether you are in a shack just know I’m next door. Whether you’re in a suburb, just know I’m next door because my music is here to inspire you. So a girl next door. Whenever you need her she is there to inspire and give you hope,” Zahara told MacG how she would want to be remembered when all is said and done.
