Patson Chipunza, a ZANU PF Councillor for Ward 11, Seke in Chitungwiza, has appeared in Harare magistrate’s court for fraud.
On Friday, June 28, Harare provincial magistrate Dennis Mangosi ruled that Patson Chipunza is not a suitable candidate for bail, and therefore, he was remanded in custody until July 11.
According to court papers, NewsReportZim.com has learned that Chipunza is allegedly subdividing and selling land belonging to the late former Minister Mr. Amos Midzi in Beatrice.
“In December 2022, Chipunza allegedly fraudulently subdivided the farm and engaged an agent to sell the subdivided land.”
The arrest of Chipunza came to light after the co-executor of the estate of the late Midzi discovered the fraud and reported the matter to ZACC.
