Zimbabwe’s election governing board ZEC has disqualified Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) candidate, Ephias Mambeme ahead of the upcoming by-election.
ZEC announced 30 November 2024 as the election day for Victoria Falls’ ward 1.
According to Citizen Coalition for Change spokesperson, Promise Mkwananzi’s recent X post, Newsreportzim.com has learnt that the party’s candidate Ephias Mambume has been disqualified from the upcoming by-election.
“Breaking news: Our candidate for by-election in Victoria Falls @MambumeVicFalls has been disqualified from the upcoming by-election. @ZANUPF_Official intends to totally decimate the genuine and authentic opposition voices in Zimbabwe. We will not surrender Zimbabwe into a one party state in the context of democratic progress within the region,” Mkwananzi wrote on X.
Ephias Mambume was among over fifty CCC councillors who recalled by Self-imposed Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu across the country in November last year.
