The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) announced a reduction in fuel prices for both diesel and petrol for September 2024 .
The new prices indicate that diesel will be sold at ZiG 21.57 per litre for Diesel SO, and US$1.55 per litre in foreign currency, while Blend-E20 will cost ZiG 21.36 and US$1.53 per litre.
This marks a decrease from the previous prices of ZiG 22.08 and US$1.60, respectively, highlighting ZERA’s commitment to ensuring affordable fuel options for the public.
The pricing changes are effective until October 4, 2024, based on the M-1 pricing system. Additionally, the blending ratio for petroleum products is set at E20, which aligns with regional energy standards and sustainability efforts.
Operators are encouraged to sell the products at prices below the set maximum if it benefits their business model, promoting competitive pricing in the market.
It is essential for retail outlets to prominently display their prices to comply with the fuel pricing regulations established by ZERA, ensuring transparency for consumers.
Stakeholders and the general public can verify these price changes through the official ZERA website, which serves as a reliable source for updates on fuel pricing and regulatory changes in Zimbabwe’s energy sector.
