Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) engaged and educated residents of Mutare, particularly in Hobhouse B/C, on sustainable energy sources and practices.
Through these workshops, ZERA aims to raise public awareness of the importance of sustainable energy practices and the benefits they offer, such as reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition to promoting sustainable energy practices, ZERA has also taken the opportunity to warn people about the dangers of fallen electricity cables. Fallen power lines can lead to electric shocks, fires, and serious injuries or even fatalities.
ZERA also advises responsible consumers to take necessary precautions and avoid fallen electricity cables. If a fallen cable is encountered, individuals should maintain a safe distance, refrain from touching the cable or any nearby objects, and immediately notify local authorities or the electricity supply company so that appropriate action can be taken.
