The Zimbabwe Energy and Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has launched a significant crackdown on service stations for selling contaminated fuel.
In a recent announcement, ZERA disclosed the names of various stations that have faced penalties for breaching fuel quality regulations.
Among those penalized are Elima Fuels in VID Eastlea, Harare, which sold a contaminated blend and was fined, and Knars Petroleum in Marondera, which was caught selling water-contaminated fuel and also fined.
Rubel Energy in Mufakose, Harare, was fined for selling contaminated diesel.
Elima in Ruwa faced severe repercussions; its license was revoked, and the site was closed after it repeatedly sold contaminated blend and diesel.
Similarly, DA Motors in Mutare was fined for selling contaminated diesel and mislabeled blended petrol as unblended.

Flo Petroleum in Masvingo, Mt Meru in Mbare, Harare, and Busuman Motors in Bulawayo were each fined for selling contaminated fuel.
All Oils in Ardbennie, Harare, was also fined for water-contaminated diesel. Pitstop in Hatcliffe, Harare, is under scrutiny with further details yet to be released.
AA Fuels in Southerton, Harare, and Elima in Waterfalls, Harare, both faced fines for selling contaminated fuel blends and diesel.
ZERA’s enforcement actions underscore their dedication to maintaining fuel quality and safeguarding consumers across Zimbabwe.
