As the COSAFA Cup approaches, Zimbabwe’s men’s national team is preparing for a strong performance in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
The team will depart for the tournament today, allowing them a day to rest and train before the competition begins.
Grouped alongside Zambia and Kenya, as well as the Comoros, Zimbabwe is set to take on its regional rivals in a bid to claim the coveted COSAFA title.
The team’s campaign will kick off on Thursday, with a determined effort to make a swift impact.
Zimbabwe’s influence at the tournament extends beyond the pitch, with two local referees, Brighton Chimene and Thabani Ruzariwo, selected to officiate matches at COSAFA.
Moreover, the introduction of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology from the semi-final stage onwards will add an additional layer of fairness and scrutiny to the competition.
