Zimbabwe and Angola have signed 11 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) spanning key sectors such as trade, education, culture, justice, agriculture, housing, and transport. This significant step signifies a commitment from both nations to deepen cooperation and foster mutual development.
The agreements were formalised during a ceremony attended by Zimbabwe’s Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Ambassador Frederick Shava and Angola’s External Relations Minister Tete Antonio, underscoring the importance of collaboration in advancing shared interests and goals.
Nick Mangwana, the Permanent Secretary for Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, confirmed the development in a public statement. Taking to his official social media account, Mangwana underscored the significance of the agreements in facilitating greater synergy and collaboration between the two nations.
“We are in Luanda, Angola where the sister Republics of Angola and Zimbabwe signed 11 MoUs. The last JPCC between the two Nations was last held in 1992. The two Nations have given impetus to this relationship through the signing of these MoU:
Trade 1. MOU on Diplomatic Consultations.
2. MOU on the Establishment of Political Consultation.

3. MOU on Co-operation in the Field of Higher Education and Training.

E. Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development
7. MOU on the Development of the Field of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
F. Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs
8. Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance. 9. Cooperation Protocol in the Field of Justice.
10. Agreement for the Transfer of Persons Sentenced to Deprivation of Liberty.

11. MOU on Sustainable, Affordable, Functional, Low to Medium Cost Housing and New Construction Technologies (to be signed by Hon. S. Zhemu).
