In a sad turn of events, Bathabile Meshia Sibanda, a 22-year-old student from Zimbabwe, has di3d in Poland after a brief illness.
The news has left her mother, Khawulani Sibanda, tr@umatized and she is now appealing to the public for support in bringing her late daughter’s body back to Zimbabwe.
Bathabile was pursuing a Long Cycle Master’s Studies in Physiotherapy at Vincent Pol University in Lublin, with the program set to conclude on March 31, 2029. Sadly, her time at the university was cut short during her first semester when she fell ill.

According to Bathabile’s family, the postmortem examination revealed that her untim3ly demise was attributed to an undisclosed form of stomach cancer. Although she was young, Bathabile’s acquaintances remember her as a quiet and introverted person who remained largely unknown to many.
Renowned journalist Ezra Tshisa Sibanda took to his official Facebook page to share the heartbreaking situation faced by Bathabile’s family.
They were left with nothing as they as it has been revealed that they had used up their savings to finance her university education , now they struggling with financial constraints to bring her body back home. In a heartfelt gesture, Bathabile’s fellow students at VPU are diligently coordinating efforts to gather the necessary documentation and assist her grieving family in Zimbabwe.
In light of these circumstances, a GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to facilitate the collection of funds, which will be utilised to bring Bathabile Sibanda’s body back home, from Poland to Zimbabwe.
