The Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) has successfully secured two million litres of fuel to bolster support for road authorities in their respective projects nationwide.
As per the Ministry of Transport’s recent announcement, ZINARA’s acquisition of 2 million litres of fuel aims to alleviate challenges faced by authorities in procuring this essential resource, previously transacted in USD.
This development coincides with the government’s heightened focus on nationwide road construction and rehabilitation efforts. Under the Second Republic, infrastructure development, particularly road projects, has assumed paramount importance, with significant progress observed across various phases of implementation.
Additionally, Cabinet has greenlit a US$110 million Public-Private-Partnership investment for the construction and enhancement of the 120KM Old Gwanda Road by Zwane Enterprise.
The project anticipates completion within a year from its commencement, underscoring the government’s commitment to advancing infrastructure initiatives through collaborative endeavors.
