The Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services (MICTPCS) in Zimbabwe has been deploying ICT equipment to marginalised schools and establishing ICT-enabled disaster management centres across the nation.
According to recent reports, MICTPCS is currently deploying ICT equipment to 100 marginalised schools. As of now, 40 schools have already received the necessary equipment, with the remaining 60 schools expected to receive theirs by May 15, 2024.
Furthermore, MICTPCS has successfully established 14 ICT-enabled disaster management centres nationwide. These centres are designed to leverage the power of ICT in managing and mitigating the impact of natural disasters and other emergencies.
By incorporating advanced technologies such as early warning systems and data analysis tools, these centres are better equipped to respond to crisis situations and ensure the safety of affected communities.
