Well-known Zimbabwean reggae-dancehall artist Winky D took to social media to thank all of his supporters and fans after winning the People’s Choice Award at the NAMAs, the National Arts Merit Awards. The ceremony was held last night, 24 February in Hall 3 at ZITF in the City of Kings & Queens, Bulawayo.
He has expressed how grateful he is for the continued support of his ghetto craft by fans throughout the years. He wrote:
‘I find myself immersed in overpowering emotions of gratitude, as I remain unable to contain the boundless appreciation I hold for all of you. You are a testament to enduring bonds of unity and love. I wish to convey my heartfelt thanks for your unrelenting support throughout my musical journey, particularly over the past year and following the release of “Eureka Eureka.”
Every vote cast embodies two decades of commitment to ghettocraft music that pierces straight to our hearts and souls. Your devotion and belief in me serve as a foundation upon which the Gafa music dream stands tall, and I assure you that I remain steadfastly dedicated to returning the favour through inspiring and uplifting creations.
