Zimbabwean comedienne and socialite, Felistas Murata, popularly known as Mai Titi, has introduced her long-term partner, Shumba, to the public.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Mai Titi shared a picture of the couple embracing, revealing that Shumba, whom she had been dating privately, suggested making their relationship public. The pair, who have been together for almost three years, plan to create a shared social media page titled “The Shumba’s Diaries” to document their journey.
“Shumba said he has been stuck in this relationship for two years. He says he now wants to be known by people. We have a page that we would like you to follow while watching our love journey.
November will mark three years together, and this one is going nowhere because I’ve put real barbed wire on this one. I told him to stay behind, but he questioned whether I had something to hide, so I had to reveal him,” she said.
Mai Titi confidently stated that their relationship is solid, remarking that Shumba is “not going anywhere” as she has firmly committed to their bond. Despite facing criticism and unsolicited advice from social media users, she emphasised her determination to live her life on her own terms.
This revelation comes after her brief and highly publicised marriage to Tinashe Maphosa in 2022, which ended in a short time. Their extravagant wedding, costing over US$100,000 and held at Royal Gates in Chisipite, was funded by Mai Titi herself, a decision she later regretted.
