In a dramatic turn of events, a suspected armed r0bber identified as Kudzanai Zuze, aged 35, was shot d3ad by a local miner named Chinai Chimanga during an attempted r0bbery at Chimanga’s residence in Concession.
Zuze was reportedly accompanied by three other armed accomplices who managed to flee the scene following the gunfire.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, the group initially poisoned Chimanga’s dogs in a calculated attempt to enter his property undetected around 3 AM.
However, Chimanga, remaining vigilant, armed himself with a pistol and an axe and called for help as he confronted the intruders.
In the ensuing chaos, he fired his weapon, fatally striking Zuze and discharging two additional warning sh0ts into the air to alert nearby residents.
Authorities were summoned, and police arrived to secure the scene, later inviting Zuze’s wife, Privilege Kakomo, aged 27, to identify her deceased husband’s body.
Upon questioning, Kakomo revealed that her husband had spent the day in the company of his accomplices before they departed around 6 PM the previous evening.
A further inquiry led police to the home of one of the other suspects, where they located the suspect’s wife, Consider Nyakudya, aged 29, who provided information indicating her husband had left home on November 11 and had not returned since, raising concerns about his role in the unfolding investigation.
As the inquiry deepens, police continue their search for the remaining suspects linked to the attempted r0bbery while community members react to the v!olent incident that has shaken their neighborhoods.
