Zambian police have apprehended four Zimbabwean men suspected of a string of car th3fts and break-ins in Lusaka.
Prince Dube, George Chuma, Fortune Maswabi, and Mudududzi Moyo were arrested on Thursday by Woodlands police station officers.
The suspects, who had been on the wanted list, are linked to several carjackings, including the theft of K305,000 from a Zambia Air Force officer’s vehicle.
Other reported incidents include break-ins at malls, with the suspects using a white Toyota Mark X.
Police found a drilling machine, riveting machine, and other tools in the suspects’ vehicle, a grey Toyota Mark X.
CCTV footage has been reviewed, and the suspects match the individuals depicted in the recordings. Investigations are ongoing, with police reviewing additional dockets containing similar facts.
The Zambia Police Service has assured the public of their commitment to ensuring safety and urged citizens to report any suspicious activities.
The suspects will face justice, and their arrest marks a significant step in combating car theft in Lusaka.
