CCC MP Bridget Nyandoro has dropped a bombshell, and it’s a doozy. After being named in a land-for-votes scandal, Nyandoro fired back with a scathing Facebook post, exposing the rot within her own party. “Wake up, people!” she warned. “Those you think will rescue you are more corrupt than ZANU PF.”
This all started when journalist Hopewell Chin’ono blew the whistle on Nyandoro’s alleged involvement in the scandal. Instead of denying it outright, Nyandoro admitted to receiving land but claimed it was all above board. “I haven’t stolen anything,” she said, trying to sound convincing.
However, things took a turn for the worse when Nyandoro started blasting her CCC colleagues. She accused them of nepotism, land grabbing, and using their positions to line their pockets. “You think there’s opposition in this country?” she wrote, sarcastically. “The people you think will save you are more corrupt than ZANU PF.”
Nyandoro also alleged that top MPs are hypocrites, insulting ZANU PF during the day but cozying up to them at night. And if that wasn’t enough, she claimed the opposition’s 2023 internal election process was tainted by bribes and shady dealings. “Some paid to contest in the elections,” she claimed, without mincing words.
But wait, there’s more! Nyandoro also dropped a bombshell about Norton MP Richard Tsvangirai, son of the late MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai. She claimed he was lying about his involvement in the scandal and even offered to send screenshots as proof. “I have a recording of him engaging with me yesterday morning,” she said. “He should come clean.”
And let’s not forget her accusations against Joana Mamombe, who she claimed remained silent when CCC MPs received US$40,000. Nyandoro questioned why Mamombe didn’t speak out against this alleged corruption.
In her post, Nyandoro advised supporters to stop idolizing leaders and focus on survival. “Tsvagai mabasa muchengete mhuri dzenyu,” she wrote bluntly. “Vanhu vamakatemba ma rukaz havanei nemi. Vari kuita zve life yavo. I feel sorry for you.”
Nyandoro’s allegations paint a grim picture of a political class driven by greed rather than ideology. “They just want a chance to loot too,” she said, summing it up nicely.
