The former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Chairperson, Advocate Dali Mpofu, has dumped the party and joined the uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) Party.
Dali Mpofu’s departure marks another blow for Julias Malema and the EFF in a series of membership exodus. Mpofu will join former EFF deputy president, Floyd Shivambu, left the party in August and the MK Party.
Speaking to SABC News in an exclusive interview, Mpofu says he believes the MK Party is the only vehicle to achieve unity and emancipation.
“After a lot of soul searching, I’ve taken a decision that I will be joining MK. I’m joining MK because I believe that it is the vehicle through which we will achieve the much-needed black and progressive unity so I’m doing so not necessarily to reject any other organisation but at this point in time, in November 2024, I am of the view that the vehicle through which we should drive that unity is uMkhonto we Sizwe.”
Mpofu joined the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party upon its formation in 2013 and served as chairperson of the Red Berets for five years from 2014.
