THE teenage victim, who is claiming that she was allegedly drugged and r@ped by Chillspot Records star producer DJ Ribhe, gave two conflicting statements, the High Court has revealed.
The 14-year-old Form 2 student did not allege any form or r@pe in her first recorded statement but later said her drink was spiked and she was r@ped in the second statement.
This came out during DJ Ribhe’s bail hearing before Justice Regis Dembure yesterday.
After the findings, the State consented to DJ Ribhe’s bail application, which was also upheld by Justice Dembure.
Justice Dembure ruled that the concession to bail by the State was proper and praised DJ Ribhe for providing an alternative address making him a favourable candidate.
DJ Ribhe and the teenage victim stay in the same neighbourhood.
The judge admitted DJ Ribhe to US$100 bail, ordered him to reside at his new address in Glen View and report to police once every Friday.
He has also been ordered not to interfere with State witnesses.
DJ Ribhe was being represented by Harare lawyer Advocate Sylvester Hashiti who took instructions from lawyers from Rubaya and Chatambudza Legal Practitioners.
The Chillspot Records music producer had spent four weeks in remand prison since his arrest on November 6.
The State claimed DJ Ribhe allegedly drugged his 14-year-old victim by spiking her drink before r@ping her at his home.
The girl had met DJ Ribhe at his home before they proceeded to Mashwede Village, in the company of other unnamed people.
While at Mashwede, DJ Ribhe, according to the State, allegedly manipulated the minor into drinking an unknown substance and smoking shisha.
Later that night, DJ Ribhe took the victim to his home where prosecutors allege he raped her.
When the girl woke up, prosecutors claim she found out that she had been r@ped.
Investigations also show that the girl had failed to attend school for two days leading to the incident.
