In a related incident, an 18-year-old man from Magwegwe West in Bulawayo faced charges of r@ping a 16-year-old neighbor who had rejected his romantic advances.
However, the charges were reduced to having s3xual intercourse with a minor after the court found him not guilty of rap3.
The incident occurred on December 12, 2024, when the accused, after being turned down, persuaded the complainant to walk with him.
During their walk, he allegedly @ss@ulted her, unzipped her trousers, and rap3d her. The complainant, who suffers from asthma, experienced difficulty breathing and lost consciousness during the ordeal.
When she regained consciousness, the accused reportedly rap3d her again.
The situation came to light when neighborhood watch members noticed the complainant struggling to walk and questioned the pair.
Throughout the trial, the accused denied the allegations, insisting that the encounter was consensual.
