A convicted r@pist, who was recently found guilty of @ggr@vating indecent @ss@ult, is seeking to downplay his heinous crime by blaming the popular radio show “Tilda Moyo” on StarFM for prompting him to commit the offense.
Brian Shereni, a DJ and unrepentant r@pist, was sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment last year on February 15 for aggravated indecent @ss@ult.
The latest incident, which occurred in October last year, took place in Cell E at Chikurubi Maximum Pr!son, where Shereni forced himself on a fellow inmate as reported by H Metro.

However, during his mitigation in court, Shereni revealed that he was aroused by the s3x and domestic issues discussed on the “Tilda Moyo” radio show, which he and other inmates were listening to at the time of the incident.
“It wasn’t my first time,” Shereni admitted. “This was actually my third time, and the other two occasions were consensual, so when we were caught doing it in the cells, we were just punished at the prison.”
The prosecution, however, disputed Shereni’s claim of being “@roused” by the radio show, pointing out that the aggravating factors in his case outweigh the mitigatory factors.
Prosecutor Zvikomborero Mupasa urged the court to impose the maximum sentence, arguing that Shereni’s unrepentant attitude makes him likely to commit similar offenses in the future.
Shereni’s history of similar crimes is not new.
His previous convictions, which include two instances of consensual s3x with fellow inmates, demonstrate a concerning trend of disrespect for other people’s rights and a lack of remorse for his actions.
The court has now been asked to consider Shereni’s mitigatory and aggravating factors to determine an appropriate sentence for this unrepentant r@pist.
