The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is investigating a disturbing case of baby dumping in Budiriro, Harare. A baby girl, estimated to be between one to six days old, was found abandoned on the roadside, wrapped in a blue baby wrapper and wearing a blue fleece. The baby was taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital for further care and management.
The ZRP is appealing for any information that may lead to the identification of the baby’s parents or any individuals with knowledge about the circumstances surrounding the baby’s abandonment. If you have any information, please contact the nearest police station.
In a separate incident, a devastating accident occurred on Borrowdale Road in Harare this Saturday morning, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place around 7 am near St Georges College when a speeding Honda Fit swerved into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a Toyota GD6.
The driver of the Honda Fit tragically lost their life at the scene. Two other individuals were injured in the crash and received medical attention. The cause of the accident is believed to be excessive speed, which led to the Honda Fit veering into the opposite lane. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
