A f@tal road traffic accident which claim twenty-four lives at the Lutumba tollgate along the Beitbridge-Masvingo highway when an Urban Connect bus collided with a commercial truck.
This f@tal accident took place this Thursday morning before 0700 hours when an Urban Connect bus driver made an overtaking error.
Beitbridge District Medical Officer, Dr Lenos Samhere confirmed that 24 people d!ed from the collision.
17 people died on the spot while seven who had sustained head injuries d!ed upon admission at the hospital.
Dr Samhere said over 30 people have been taken to hospital, with 12 of them in a critical condition.
According to witnesses, a Beitbridge-bound bus collided with a Chirundu-bound commercial truck that was carrying 34 tones of magnesium.
