Brian Mwenda, a Kenyan man who won 26 cases while falsely representing himself as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, was arrested last year following numerous public complaints.
Mwenda had successfully portrayed himself as a qualified attorney for a considerable period, according to reports. Judges did not question his abilities until his most recent arrest.
His application for a practicing certificate was not processed because he failed to provide required documents, including the certificate of business incorporation.
It was reportedly only in September 2023, when he attempted to log into the system and activate his profile to apply for his practicing certificate, that he realized he could not access his LSK Portal. The investigation revealed that after being granted access to the platform, Mwenda modified his profile photo, applied for, and paid for his practicing certificate.

According to the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) records, he is not an advocate and does not have a license to practice law in the country. Meanwhile, controversy has sparked on social media, with some users suggesting that Mwenda will represent himself in court, potentially making it his 27th case.
