In a heartwarming twist on family dynamics, Adam Zayden, a 25-year-old social media influencer from Newham, London, has become both the father and uncle to his sister Jade’s baby, following an extraordinary act of generosity.
Jade, 29, and her partner Eefje, 30, had been on a challenging journey to start their family. The couple had been struggling with fertility issues since 2018 and faced countless disappointments with donor options.
The donors they encountered often insisted on a more traditional approach, which Jade and Eefje were not comfortable with.
As their frustrations mounted, Adam, deeply moved by his sister’s plight and the emotional strain it placed on her and Eefje, stepped in with an offer that would change everything.

“It was clear they were struggling, and I wanted to help in any way I could,” Adam shared with South West News Service. “Offering my sperm felt like the most straightforward and loving solution.”
The siblings, who had always shared a close bond, were drawn even closer through this process. Jade, a researcher and developer, and Eefje, a veterinarian, were initially taken aback when Adam made the offer, though they had joked about it before.
“It was one of the easiest decisions I’ve ever made,” Adam said. “As a queer individual who doesn’t envision having children of my own, this was a way to contribute to something truly meaningful.”
From December 2021 to June 2022, the trio meticulously worked through the insemination process. Each evening during the crucial week, Jade would take their dog for a walk while Adam would make his contribution upstairs, passing the sperm to Eefje for the insemination.
Their patience and effort paid off in June 2022 when Eefje’s pregnancy test came back positive. The joy was palpable when their baby was born on March 18, 2023.
In this unique family setup, Adam, who is affectionately called “Bibi” by the baby, now finds himself enjoying a double role as both father and uncle. “He’s a very happy, jolly kid,” Adam said, reflecting on his new role.
Jade expressed her deep gratitude for the outcome, highlighting the trust and intimacy that Adam’s involvement brought to their journey. “Having someone you know and trust during such an emotional time made all the difference,” she said.
This unconventional family story underscores the profound ways in which love and support can redefine traditional roles and create new, deeply meaningful connections.
