Bulawayo Polytechnic has sparked such a buzz on social media after banning students from wearing skimpy and revealing dress code.
Students will no longer be allowed to wear ripped jeans, crop tops, mini skirts or anything type of dress code that is too revealing and indecent.
According to a notice from Bulawayo Poly making rounds on social media, students will be barred from the institution for wearing clothes which are tight-fitting, ripped, skimpy, or revealing.
Here is the list of dress code that has been banned at Bulawayo Polytechnic;
1. Ripped jeans.
2. Sleeveless tops and dresses.
3. String tops and string dresses.
4. Blouses or tops that leave the stomach out.
5. Off shoulder tops and dresses
6. Tops and dresses that reveal breast cleavages
7. Tops and dresses that leave the back open (back outs).
8. Biker and bum shorts.
9. Skin tights and other tight fitting clothes.
10. Skirts, shorts and dresses that are more than 5 centimeters above the knees.
11. See through clothes.
12. Dropping off of trousers and shorts.
13. Vents that are more than 5cm above the knee.
Bulawayo polytechnic, revealed that if a client is not dressed accordingly he or she will be prohibited from accessing the facility or it’s services.
“If not properly dressed, the client shall be asked to correct before accessing any Bulawayo Polytechnic facilities and services.
As an Institution , we encourage you all to dress accordingly.”
The move by Bulawayo Polytechnic to ban flimsy revealing dress code at the tertiary institution has been welcomed some social media users who think it’s a good initiative. Netizens called on other colleges and universities to follow suit.
On the other hand, some social media users argued that the ban seems to be targeting only female students.
