Grammy Award winning Nigerian musician Burna Boy set the record straight at trolls making fun of his shaved beard.
Burna Boy has been trending on social media after his pictures with his clean-shaved beard made rounds on the internet. Social media users are having a field day poking fun and trolling Burna Boy for how different he looks without his beard. They have been making comparisons with pictures of him when he had a beard.
Some netizens have even opined that a beard is similar to makeup, as it enhances men’s handsomeness.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Burna Boy, put trolls on blast as he expressed his displeasure. He referred to the people making fun of him and the blogs circulating his pictures without a beard as ‘weirdos.’
Burna Boy went on to set the record straight, revealing that the circulating pictures are not current but old. He disclosed that he shaved his beard in 2021.
“To all you weirdos who depend on @theshaderoom @theshadeborough And other weirdo blogs for your daily news. I shaved my beard in 2021 NOT now.”
He bemoaned how people only care about his beard and gossip about his r3lationships, rather than acknowledging his great achievements and contributions to the music industry.
“But it’s good to know that for all the history I’ve been making and records I’ve been setting and breaking, You PARASITES ONLY CARE ABOUT WHO I MIGHT HAVE F**ked, who I’m f**ck!ng and stupid sh*t like “Burna boy shaved his beard”. I gotta apologise to Nigerian blogs now cuz I thought their stupidity was unique, I didn’t know they learned all they know from the West.”
