CHINHOYI chanter, Maxwell Kauniya, says he was inspired by the late Soul Jah Love to venture into music.
He rose to prominence in 2022 when he released a tribute song for Chibaba titled Zororai Murugare Mukoma Sauro.

Kauniya said:
“I was into mining when I realised that I had a talent in singing around 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I sang a track, which I dedicated to the late Soul Jah Love called Zororai Murugare Mukoma Sauro and the doors opened for me.
“I then released another one called Tsamba, which did very well on Platinum FM Radio Station charts. I got three medals with the track when listeners endorsed it,” he said.
Unpacking his new album, Kauniya said:
“This album is a mixture of sungura, rhumba, Zim dancehall and amapiano.
“I want to make sure that I reach out to everyone. Currently, I am working with DJ Yayex, DJ Mapitse and Simple Solid Records but not forgetting Sty Legend, the producer.”
The songs on the album are the title track Simba Rengozi, Hwahwa, Mutakunanzva, Hazvipere Mushe, Mwana Wese, Mwana waElias, Tisadadirane, Patuma, Hombe, Ruva Repakati, Zvobuda Here, Mukandipa Ngoma, Say No To Drugs, Dzinde Rerugare, Ziso Renyu, Manyemwe, Water Melon and Muromo.
