Tanaka Mafukidze (24) and Prudent Chipo Musimike (25) are trading in their party hats for courtroom attire as they face charges of malicious damage to property. Their highly anticipated trial is set for June 11, 2025, at the Harare Magistrates’ Court.
The drama unfolded on March 21, 2025, at Lombard Mansions, where a flat owned by Rosemary Danda went up in flames. The fire department wasn’t the only ones on the scene – two drunk women were found amidst the burning property. The flat was rented by Trevor Dongo, who had a lunch date with his girlfriend, Mafukidze.
The drama began when Dongo and Mafukidze disagreed about Musimike’s presence. He left to fetch a friend, leaving the two women to their own devices. And, well, let’s just say they found a creative way to resolve their differences – by allegedly setting the flat ablaze.
When Dongo returned, he was greeted by a burning inferno and a hefty damage bill: US$21,178.00. Now, Mafukidze and Musimike are facing the music, and their defense strategy is eagerly awaited. Will they claim it was a “passion-filled” argument or a case of “drunk and clumsy”? The courtroom drama is sure to be lit!
