Elon Musk has launched a smaller and more portable version of the Starlink satellite internet equipment.
The device, which may be readily carried in a backpack, measures 28.9×24.8 cm (11.4″ x 9.8″).
The Starlink Mini, which includes built-in WiFi, is projected to be less expensive than the standard Starlink dish, costing roughly $250 plus a monthly subscription fee. The device is expected to give download rates of over 100 Mbps and upload speeds of 12 Mbps, with a latency of 23ms.
He emphasised its ability to bring internet connectivity to low-income and remote communities. Some people have expressed an interest in using it as a backup internet connection or incorporating it into vehicles such as the Cybertruck.
“I just set it up right now and am writing this post through space. It took less than 5 minutes. Easily carried in a backpack. This product will change the world. It’s about half the price of the standard dish to buy and for the monthly subscription, but you can still watch multiple 4K video streams simultaneously!,” he posted.
