Sungura musician, First Farai, has publicly begged for assistance from businessman Wicknell Chivayo, citing struggles faced in the music industry.
In a circulating video, First Farai expressed the challenges he has encountered over the years since entering the music scene. He recounted investing in equipment at the onset of his career, only to see it all destroyed, leaving him without essential tools for his craft. Additionally, he lamented the loss of his personal vehicle, making travel to work increasingly difficult.
Further compounding his woes, First Farai revealed that his band, comprised of 17 members, now finds themselves unemployed due to the harsh economic conditions.

In a plea directed at Chivayo, First Farai appealed for support to revitalise his band and continue his musical journey. This appeal follows Chivayo’s recent acts of generosity towards other artists, including gifting Sungura musician Alick Macheso and Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria with brand new cars earlier this year.
While acknowledging Chivayo’s benevolence, it’s worth noting that First Farai’s musical output has dwindled in recent times, with no new albums released in the interim.
