Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube, yesterday delivered his 2025 budget. Mthuli Ncube presenting the Government’s ZiG276 billion 2025 fiscal plan, running under the theme, “Building Resilience for Sustained Economic Transformation,” before President Mnangagwa and legislators at the New Parliament complex in Mt Hampden, Harare.
In his 2025 budget, the Minister has allocated US$1 million for the preparations and participation of the Warriors in the upcoming 2025 African Cup of Nations competitions which was set for December 2025 in Morocco.
The Permanent Secretary for Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Service, Nick Mangwana has confirmed the development.
“Government has also made a provision of US$1 million for the preparations and participation of the Zimbabwe National Football Team (Warriors) for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) set for December 2025 in Morocco,” the confirmation reads.
Zimbabwe will be marking their sixth AFCON appearance in Morocco, which is 20 years down the road after registering their debut participation during the 2004 edition held in Tunisia.
The Warriors sealed their qualification for the prestigious continental football early this month after finishing the qualifying competition on the second with nine points, five points behind the log leaders Cameroon in group J
