Zambian politician Joseph Kalimbwe has responded to allegations that Zambia is a puppet of America by sharing a his views on X.
The statement reads :
He claimed that one is unable to purchase items from a shop in Lusaka with a $20 bill, as the vendor would reject it and ask for local currency, Kwacha notes instead.
In contrast, he pointed out that in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, shops reject the local currency and demand US dollars.
He then posed the question, “Now tell me who is a puppet of America here?”
Kalimbwe’s statement is likely aimed at challenging the notion that Zambia is under the influence of the United States, by highlighting the different treatment he received in Zambia compared to Zimbabwe.
