Hopewell Chin’ono, a prominent journalist, has called out Zimdancehall artist Seh Calaz to a sound clash after being targeted in the musician’s latest diss track, “Mambo Ndi Mambo.”
In the song, Seh Calaz took shots not only at Chin’ono but also at Winky D, Silent Killer, Maggikal, the Ndururani Crew, and Ricky Fire.
Taking to his Facebook, Chin’ono expressed his bewilderment at Seh Calaz for dissing him while refusing to engage in a sound clash.
He labeled Seh Calaz a coward for not stepping up to prove his claims of being the “King of Dancehall.”
In his post, Chin’ono emphasized that while diss tracks are part of the music scene’s competitive nature, a refusal to clash after issuing a diss is contradictory.
“Why dis me in your track and then shy away from a sound clash? If you truly believe you are the king, show up and prove it! Winky D is the only rightful King of Zimdancehall,” Chin’ono stated. He further challenged Seh Calaz, declaring, “Come on, don’t be a coward; let’s give the fans the clash they want!”

When questioned about why he wasn’t challenging Winky D despite Seh Calaz’s remarks about being the king, Chin’ono clarified that he has no intentions of clashing with Winky D, who has never dissed him. Instead, he focused solely on Seh Calaz, who directly named him in his track.
“I’ve never met Winky D, and he’s established as the King of Dancehall based on numerous metrics—followers, hit songs, views, and more. Why would I confront someone who hasn’t called me out? It’s Calaz who needs to step up since he named me in his song,” Chin’ono explained.
He insists that a clash with Seh Calaz would not only prove the artist’s mettle but also introduce him to a wider audience.
“This clash will be the most-watched dancehall event on social media. So, Calaz, stop hiding! Daddy Hope is ready with the mic for you!” he added with a playful tone, emphasizing that this clash is about musical rivalry, not personal attacks.
