A Harare woman, Grater Nyambizi, has sought legal protection from her husband, Trust Chinyanga, citing his threatening behavior when she denies him !nt!macy.
She claims that he often threatens to burn down their cabin if she turns him down, expressing her fear that he may one day act on these threats.
Nyambizi detailed her constant state of anxiety, stating, “I am terrified by his actions.
Every time I deny him s3x, he pours fuel around our cabin, threatening to burn it down with me inside. He even wants me to have s3x with him when I am on my periods, yet I am not comfortable with that.”

She also accused Chinyanga of being excessively suspicious, alleging that he often accuses her of infidelity and has even @tt@cked her with bricks when she comes home late from work. “He accuses me of having extramarital affairs and attacks me with bricks each time I come home late from work,” she claimed.
Chinyanga, meanwhile, acknowledged that !nt!macy issues have created conflict in their marriage but insisted that the root of the problem was Nyambizi’s attitude.
“She denies me my conjugal rights, and I only engage in s3x with her once a month. The reason we end up fighting is that she claims to have more money than me and spends more time at work than with me. I expect her to be home around 1 pm every day. What’s more important than our marriage?”
Magistrate Meenal Naratom, presiding over the case, expressed serious concerns about Chinyanga’s behavior and expectations, particularly his insistence on intimacy during Nyambizi’s m3nstrual period. “Why would you force your wife to be intimate with you when she feels uncomfortable?” she questioned.
In her ruling, Magistrate Naratom granted Nyambizi a protection order and advised both parties to seek marriage counseling to address their ongoing issues.
