A Bulawayo woman, Tracy Marunga found herself at odds with her son, William, after deciding to move on from the loss of her husband, who passed away in 2015.
Tracy began a relationship with Patrick Munodawafa, a local resident, in 2020. However, her son William reacted negatively to this development.
He expressed his displeasure by shouting at Tracy and accusing her of dishonoring her late husband’s memory whenever Patrick visited their home.

“Every time I bring Patrick home, my son becomes angry and shouts at me in his presence,” Tracy recounted in court as reported by B Metro.
“He threatens to stop my lover from visiting and claims I am disrespecting their father’s memory in my own house, forgetting that the title deeds are in my name. I pray that this court grants me a protection order so he will stop harassing me and my lover.”
William did not attend the court session where Tracy sought relief, leading to Magistrate Challenge Mahembe granting her a protection order.
As part of the order, William is prohibited from verbally @busing Tracy, as well as from any h@r@ssment or threats of physical v!olence against her or Patrick.
