Jah Prayzah, the popular Zimbabwean musician, has remained tight-lipped about his alleged snub of Baba Harare’s album launch at Padziva last week.
Despite being scheduled as one of the headline artists alongside Gemma Griffiths and Voltz JT, Jah Prayzah’s absence has fuelled speculation about the true nature of his relationship with Baba Harare, who was once a member of Jah Prayzah’s Third Generation band.
During the event, Baba Harare expressed his disappointment in Jah Prayzah’s no-show and openly criticized his former boss. He addressed the crowd, stating, “He just decided not to show up, I don’t know what wrong I did to him that he didn’t come. I want to explain so that you don’t think I duped you by advertising that Jah Prayzah will be here. Everything was set, and he was supposed to be here tonight.”
When approached for comment, Jah Prayzah’s manager, Keen Mushapaidze, declined to provide any details about the incident, stating, “We don’t want to comment about that issue. He (Baba Harare) knows what happened.”
In a radio interview on ZiFM, Baba Harare clarified that he was not complaining but merely informing his fans about what had transpired. He said, “I wasn’t complaining about that. I was just telling the fans what had happened because I don’t know what had happened.”
