Renowned Sungura musician Alick Macheso has made a significant announcement, declaring a temporary suspension of his performances in Zimbabwe until the release of his highly anticipated new album.
Scheduled for August 2nd, the album launch will take place at the Alex Sports Club in Harare.
Macheso’s decision to halt local performances was confirmed by his publicist, Tich Makahamadze, who emphasised that the artist is dedicating his time to perfecting the upcoming album.
As a result, all local booking requests have been declined, except for a notable exception: Macheso will participate in a festival in South Africa, where he will share the stage with the emerging talent Mark Ngwazi.

Originally slated for June 7th, the album launch was postponed following feedback from fans regarding the cold weather typical of June.
The rescheduled date of August 2nd aligns with warmer outdoor conditions, ensuring that fans can fully immerse themselves in the long-awaited event.
Macheso’s decision underscores his commitment to delivering a polished and memorable album, promising a spectacular celebration of music upon its release.
