A 13-year-old girl from Lusaka, Zambia, who was reported miss!ng in February, has been found living at a lodge with her 30-year-old boyfriend identified as Chilufya Matapo.
The girl, a Grade 8 student, is now three months pregn@nt. Matapo who is an assistant Human Resource Officer at ZAFFICO, has been detained by police for allegedly recruiting a minor into an !llegal marriage.
According to media reports, the girl’s parents allegedly had received ransom demands from suspected abductors, but the investigation led to the discovery of the girl’s voluntary relationship with Matapo.
The investigation traced the girl’s location to a lodge in Garden House, where she was found to be residing with Matapo.
A physical examination revealed signs of pregnancy.
During questioning, the girl reportedly acknowledged that she had left home voluntarily with Matapo, who had promised to provide her with everything she desired. She stated that he had convinced her to run away and live with him.
