The police in Bulawayo are investigating a serious h!t and run road traffic accid3nt that occurred on Rangemore Road, Nkulumane, Bulawayo on June 8, 2024.
According to the police report, a motorist who was driving a yet to be identified vehicle h!t a pedestrian, an 85-year-old woman, who was walking along the road.
The motorist did not stop to render assistance to the !njured pedestrian, who sustained severe !njuries including head !njuries and a fracture on the right leg. The v!ctim was rushed to Mpilo Hospital for emergency treatment.
The police are urging anyone with information about the incid3nt or the identity of the motorist to come forward and report at any nearest police station.
Eyewitnesses reported that the accid3nt occurred around 8:30 am on the morning of June 8, 2024. The motorist was driving at a high speed when they h!t the pedestrian, who was reportedly walking along the road without any supervision.
The police are also appealing to anyone who may have seen or witnessed the accid3nt to come forward and provide any information they may have.
The police have warned that leaving the scene of an accid3nt is a serious offense and can result in severe penalties, including imprisonment.
